LULAC: Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton Needs To Resign
========================================================

Nation’s Oldest and Largest Latino Civil Rights Organization Says Efforts Against
President-Elect Biden Outside His Bounds

Washington, DC - The League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC) Wednesday
denounced a request by Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton asking the U.S. Supreme
Court for permission to sue several battleground states Democrat Joe Biden won
which added decisively to his victory margin.

“This is beyond laughable, it is so ridiculous,” said Domingo Garcia, LULAC
National President. “What makes this so hypocritical is that this desperate
grandstanding move is coming from one of the most corrupt politicians not just in
Texas, but the country. The move reeks of a blatant attempt to get a presidential
pardon since Paxton is the subject of an FBI criminal investigation. LULAC
vehemently opposes any concocted political maneuver that attempts to deny
Americans their lawfully cast votes from guiding the Electoral College in
affirming the 2020 win of Joe Biden as our next president,” adds Garcia.

Paxton is asking the Supreme Court for permission to sue Georgia, Michigan,
Pennsylvania and Wisconsin, saying their election processes were flawed and
disputing Biden’s win in each of these states. No evidence supporting these
claims has been found by any state or federal agency, including the FBI.
President Trump is also requesting permission from the Supreme Court to join the
lawsuit.

“It is a shame that a man like Paxton is casting the entire state of Texas and
even fellow Republicans in such a negative light,” said Linda Chavez, LULAC
National Board Member and Vice-President for the Southwest. “Mr. Paxton and now
President Trump are attempting to supersede the will of the majority of voters
including many conservatives who want a change in the White House after this
Administration’s failure to protect Americans from the pandemic,” she added.

Republican attorneys general in 17 states are joining Paxton in his bid to the
Supreme Court. These are Missouri, Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Indiana, Kansas,
Louisiana, Mississippi, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South
Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Utah, and West Virginia.

“Texas LULAC opposes an accused lawbreaker, Attorney General Paxton trying to
brown nose himself into the national spotlight by trampling our constitutional
rights,” says Rodolfo Rosales Jr., LULAC State Director. “This is a waste of hard
earned money from Texas taxpayers in a matter where Mr. Paxton has zero
standing,” adds Rosales.

On Monday, the Electoral College will meet and is expected to affirm Joe Biden
with 36 more votes than the 270-vote minimum needed to win the White House.
