The tireless activism by organizations like the Sunrise Movement, School Strike for Climate, 350.org, and Greenpeace is working. Across the world, hundreds of thousands of people are taking to the streets to demand powerful action on the climate crisis — and the kids are leading the way.

Youth activists have been at the forefront of this fight, and they’ve brought an incredible new voice to the table. Alongside people living in poverty and those who live in rapidly changing climates, the children will face the full brunt of climate change.

We have to recognize that this might be our last shot to avert catastrophe — that if we fail here, as those before us did in the 80s, 90s, and 00s — we might not have another chance.

Our leaders are still dragging their feet in Congress — despite the incredible efforts by Justice Democrats like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez to demand a Green New Deal and powerful action on climate change. In just a few months, our movement has managed to bring this conversation onto the national stage.
