John,

Imagine for a moment that you're a parent living paycheck to paycheck, making just enough to keep the lights on and put food on the table for your two children.

Then suddenly, without warning, the rug is pulled out from under your feet. A devastating pandemic comes along and upends everything -- leaving you without a job, and your children without their school, friends, and teachers.

Now, not only do you have to find some source of income to keep you afloat, you have to feed and manage your children around the clock, without the reprieve of school hours.

How would you be feeling in that moment, John? Scared? Exhausted? Overwhelmed? Hopeless? Probably all of the above.

No parent should ever have to feel this way.

But sadly, this story has been the reality for thousands of parents here in Washington -- especially for low-income and Black, Indigenous and People of Color (BIPOC) families -- as their lives have been disrupted and derailed by the COVID-19 crisis.

Fortunately, there is a way to help. All in WA recently launched the Child Care Initiative to help struggling Washington families access affordable child care. Will you make a contribution to aid this urgent initiative today and help ease the burden on working families?

In addition to providing much-needed resources to parents in dire need of child care programs, the Child Care Initiative sustains child care providers throughout our state, strengthening our child care system so no child is left without the care they need.

I'm proud to lend my support to initiatives that aim to fix Washington's child care crisis, including expanding the Child Tax Credit -- which would provide financial security for Washington families.

But the great thing about All in WA's Child Care Initiative is that it doesn't have to wait to be passed -- it's working right now to help the parents and children who need it most.

So if you can, do your part to help Washington's children get the care they need right now by donating $5 or any amount to the All in WA Child Care Initiative.

With your support, we'll get closer to providing every Washington family with the resources they need to thrive -- so no parent is forced to go through this experience alone.

Thank you,

Suzan DelBene

P.S. Happy Hanukkah to all those celebrating the festival of lights this season! Hanukkah Sameach!
