Millions of people around the world are participating in today's Global Climate Strike. Young people have organized the strike. They undertand that it is imperative to listen to scientists. They are calling on Congress to do its job and pass a Green New Deal to save our planet. The stakes could not be higher.
My opponent, Stephen Lynch, should listen to them. He thinks a Green New Deal would be too expensive and is just an "aspirational document." He thinks we have 100 years to fix the problem. He's a climate change denier, pure and simple. I wonder if future generations will look back and thank him when the planet is uninhabitable?
Denying the science is stupid and dangerous. And what will the ultimate cost be?
I am inspired by the young people who are sending a clear message today...we must address climate change NOW. Young people are leading the way on many issues facing our country and our world, and that gives me hope for the future.
