John,
Where would our nation’s parks, public lands, and people be without you?
With the end of this difficult year fast approaching, I want to show you how support from friends like you has made possible many successes to create parks and protect public land for people — and urge you to join the public land movement by making a membership gift to keep our momentum moving forward.
Your year-end gift of $25
will be matched to become $50. Give $35
and your gift will double to $70. Give $50
and your gift will have twice the impact, growing to $100.
Despite the unprecedented challenges of 2020 — a global pandemic … public lands auctioned off for reckless development … climate challenges across the country — your unwavering support helped us achieve great things. Together, we:
- Permanently protected Fishers Peak as Colorado’s newest state park
- Secured $900 million every year, always, for the Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF)
- Protected 1,790 acres of private land near Zion National Park, ensuring permanent public access to two key trails and preserving the dramatic vistas for visitors from around the world who come to see Zion
- Established Kingfield Community Forest in Maine
- Created neighborhood parks and green schoolyards across the country
None of these accomplishments would have been possible without your support, and on behalf of all of us at The Trust for Public Land, please accept our sincere thanks.
But in many ways, our work is just beginning. Many new projects are underway in 2021 — including turning an old mill site into a community forest in Oregon … completing the final stretch of a greenway in Tennessee … and permanently protecting the remaining 128 acres of privately-owned land on the doorstep of a national park in Arizona — to name a few.
2021 is just around the corner, and by 2025 we’ve set a goal to protect one million acres of land … create parks within a 10-minute walk of the five million Americans who currently don’t have access to one … and build 1,000 miles of trails for people to get outdoors. There’s no time to rest on our success.
With so many achievements behind us and yet so many challenges still ahead of us, may I count on your year-end gift to The Trust for Public Land today?
Sincerely,
Kim Elliot
Senior Director of Annual Giving
P.S. Your tax-deductible gift by December 31 will be matched, dollar for dollar, to create parks and protect public lands for people. Please continue your generosity with a special year-end gift now, while it can go twice as far.
