John -

I am thrilled to announce that Detroit Action has joined the Partnership for Working Families as our newest affiliate organization!

As a dynamic base-building and membership-based organization that fights for economic, racial, and social justice for Detroiters, Detroit Action has enacted a vision of this work and of the future that is truly transformational. [[link removed]] We are so glad to welcome them into the Partnership Family.

Their team has joined our network in order to build power at the local level with other like-minded groups and fight together against issues that impact their members and their communities -- including preemption, foreclosure and the struggle for housing justice.

Led by veteran organizer Branden Snyder, Detroit Action mobilizes their membership to push back on the consistent and deliberate attack on public and civic institutions that has made Detroit one of the most politically and economically marginalized communities in the country.

Detroit Action’s necessary and innovative work to expand our democracy played a key role in the 2020 election. Their unique voter education and mobilization campaign [[link removed]] focused on voters that have been ignored by traditional campaigns -- and it was so successful that by the end of this election season, Detroit Action mobilized over 20,000 first time voters to act. When it became clear that our votes were under threat, they then mobilized to ensure that every vote was counted and the will of the people was heard.

Please help us welcome Detroit Action! For updates on their critical work, follow Detroit Action on Instagram [[link removed]] , Twitter [[link removed]] , and Facebook [[link removed]] . While you’re at it, register for their annual “Friendraiser” [[link removed]] on December 17 at 7 PM ET! We’ll be tuning in for a conversation and celebration to reflect on the wins from 2020 and imagine a better Detroit for 2021.

In solidarity,

Lauren Jacobs
