Most teachers and administrators can’t identify JUUL

While two-thirds of teachers and administrators have heard of JUUL, fewer than half are able to identify the e-cigarette in a photo. When the top reason young people use e-cigarettes is because a family member or friend (like a classmate) uses one, preventing use at school is critically important.

Despite vaping epidemic, one-third of parents remain unaware of JUUL

More than one-third — 35.9% — of parents of middle and high school students had no awareness of JUUL as the vaping epidemic was intensifying, and among those parents who had awareness of JUUL, fewer than half knew that JUUL pods always contain nicotine. Increasing parental awareness of e-cigarettes is needed to stem the rising rate of youth use.
