John -- 2020 was a trying year for all of us, but for immigrant families it’s been extremely tough.
Tens of thousands of refugees are stuck at the southern border because the Trump administration refuses to process their claims promptly, hundreds of families are trapped in ICE jails, thousands more separated from their families in detention centers running rampant with coronavirus, and an asylum system that has effectively been shut down.
We have a ton of work ahead of us to right the wrongs of the Trump administration’s brutal immigration policies, but we know what works: citizen action.
That’s why you’re invited to join us for our last supporter call of 2020 this Tuesday, December 15th at 8pm ET / 5pm PT. We will celebrate our movement wins from this year and talk about how we can continue to create a people-driven movement for even more success in 2021.
Together, in 2020, we helped reunite families, call out unjust policies and make family separation an election issue so people could vote for change.
In 2021, we have more opportunity than ever to reunify families, but it is going to take all of us working together to make family separation history.
The challenges are vast, but the Families Belong Together team has big plans to organize our incredible community to keep the energy going and make sure this new administration follows through on its promises.
We hope you can join us next week. Sign up here to participate in our supporter call and join hundreds of others across the country committed to ending family separation and learn how to take a more active role in our growing movement!
We look forward to working with you next year!
