Last weekend, Jon Ossoff and Rev. Raphael Warnock held debates with their Republican opponents ahead of the critical January 5th runoffs – the two races that will determine control over the Senate.

Well, they were scheduled to at least. Jon Ossoff’s opponent, David Perdue, didn’t even bother showing up!

It’s not surprising why – last week, the New York Times published an investigation showing he’d conducted thousands of stock trades while in office, raising some major questions around ethics violations.

And in the other debate, the unelected Kelly Loeffler dodged a question on the exact same topic, pivoting to robotic Fox News talking points about her opponent.

It’s an embarrassment to the people of Georgia that one of their Senators didn’t even show up to his debate, taking his constituent’s votes for granted – and the other could barely make it through hers without repeating the same right-wing talking points ad nauseam.

These Republicans think they can win by hiding behind huge campaign war chests. We can put a stop to that and restore dignity to Georgia’s representation by sending Jon Ossoff and Rev. Raphael Warnock to the Senate on January 5th.
