Hello,

Relief from the CARES Act is set to expire on New Year's Eve. Evictions, foreclosures, bankruptcy, and financial hardship loom ahead for families and small businesses across the country unless Congress takes swift action.

Many people are hurting, friend. With folks struggling to stay afloat, we can all do our part by lending a helping hand to our neighbors.

In the coming weeks, HandsOn Greater Richmond will be hosting several volunteer opportunities across the city. You can help make a difference by safely delivering food, services, support, and even presents to families, frontline workers, and veterans.

When the COVID-19 crisis hit our city, Mayor Levar Stoney proclaimed Richmond the "Capital of Compassion." But we can't just talk the talk, we have to act. Join Levar in helping our fellow Richmonders by signing up to volunteer today.

We've seen the best of Richmond during this crisis, and we've watched teachers, parents, and workers step up to help their fellow Richmonders weather the storm. There's no crisis our city can't face as long as we work together.

Through HandsOn Greater Richmond, you can create family dinner kits for those struggling with food insecurity. You can donate emergency hygiene bags. Food pantry delivery drivers are desperately needed, or you can step up as a Holiday Hero to bring some holiday cheer to folks.

Not everyone can give back, and that's ok. But if you are in a position to lend a helping hand, this is the moment. Join Levar in practicing compassion to create a more just, equitable city.
