It’s been over two years since President Trump destroyed the DREAM Act -- throwing hundreds of thousands into the shadows to hide in fear from deportation.

As an immigrant from Ecuador, I understand the heartache immigrants have felt during this administration, especially when their immigration status is at risk of suddenly changing.

We must stand up and fight for DREAMers! We need to fix our broken immigration system and create a clear and viable pathway to citizenship for Dreamers -- including the over 8,000 in this congressional district.‬

I’m proud to have fought tirelessly for compassionate, comprehensive immigration reform, but I’m disappointed to report that it’s profoundly broken. We’re reminded of that daily as we hear tragic stories of family separation. I’ll continue to fight until our system is fixed.
