Time and time again, we’ve seen our “leaders” lecture us on our individual decisions and the importance of government-mandated lockdowns during COVID, only to find out later that those same officials were ignoring their own standards. Be it vacationing while lecturing people to stay home, closing restaurants and then going out to dinner, or ending all public gatherings, then having one of their own, elected officials have been caught in their hypocrisy over and over.

 

Rules for thee, but not for me is the mantra of these leaders.

 

If state and local officials want to propose new restrictions, they need to use common sense and pass “the smell test.” Government officials MUST also apply the same standards on themselves.
