Arbitrator says PepsiCo remains 'exclusive distributor' of Bang Energy drinks
Weeks after Bang 'fired' PepsiCo, an emergency arbitrator has ruled that PepsiCo will remain the exclusive distributor of Bang Energy drinks until October 2023. The decision states that Vital Pharmaceuticals must honor the terms of the agreement and can no longer post comments about the agreement without PepsiCo's approval. PepsiCo says that the arbitrator's emergency order "upholds the importance and enforceability of distributor agreements."
10,000 restaurants have closed over the past three months
The National Restaurant Association (NRA) has reported that 17% of restaurants have closed since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. Of those, 10,000 have closed in just the last three months. In a letter to Congress, NRA's Executive Vice President Sean Kennedy said, "What these findings make clear is that more than 500,000 restaurants of every business type […] are in an economic free fall."
