Hi team – quick update from Capitol Hill.
A bill to provide relief amid the latest coronavirus surge is making its way through Congress.
The stimulus proposal includes support for small businesses, state and local governments, and schools, as well as funding for unemployment insurance, healthcare, and distribution of a COVID-19 vaccine.
As discussions continue, I want to hear from you. Do you want Congress to pass a stimulus bill before the end of the year? How would your community be impacted by this legislation?
It’s been a tough year, and with the holiday season underway, Congress needs to deliver for working families.
Many key provisions that were passed by Congress earlier in the year are set to expire in the coming weeks and months, including expanded unemployment benefits, the national eviction moratorium, payment deferrals on federal student loans, various tax credits to help small businesses, and more.
Millions of Americans are about to lose their unemployment benefits. Millions of Americans could be evicted. The time to act is now!
I am pushing hard to ensure a stimulus passes Congress before the end of the year. If you’re with me, can you take a moment to let me know here?
Thanks so much,
– David
