Dear
Friend,
Hanukkah brings more than light into our lives — it reminds us that
we have risen up time and again against tyranny. In our tradition, we
are always kindling the flame of justice.
Join us on December 17th for a unique (and virtual)
communal menorah lighting on the final night of Hanukkah to light the
path forward through the night and into a new dawn of hope and
possibility in the new year.
Lights of Resistance: A National Hanukkah Candle
Lighting
What: A special
Hanukkah Celebration with Bend the Arc and many friends
When: Thursday, December 17th at 8pm ET/5pm
PT Where: Zoom Bring: A
hanukkiah (optional) Attire: As festive as you’d
like
During a time of collective struggle and pain, we welcome Hanukkah
as a reminder that a great miracle has happened here. We rose up, in
collaboration and deep partnership with our allies across lines of
difference, to resist those who endangered all our communities. And
we’re joining together now to celebrate this chance to renew our
democracy.
This Hanukkah, we celebrate, we reflect, and we rededicate
ourselves to the sacred work of building a country where all
are free and safe, no matter what we look like or where we come
from.
We’re bringing together over a dozen partners to throw a last night
of Hanukkah party:
- Hanukkah lighting led by leaders of the Jewish resistance and our
partners
- Special guests
- Music, learning, and community
Just as the miraculous oil burned until it’s job was finished —
so do we commit to tending the flames of our spirit, hope, and effort.
These lights won’t be extinguished until our task of building the
society we dream of has been achieved.
In love and hope,
The Bend the Arc Team
