Dear friends –
We hope this email finds you well. We are in the final month of a challenging year for our communities, with the pandemics of COVID-19 and gun violence hitting people of color the hardest. Since our last policy update call, gun violence across the country has continued to spike, and this year has been especially deadly for children of color, and Black and Latinx transgender women.
At the same time, our people have continued to protest and showed up to vote last month to demand that federal and local leaders invest in our communities to keep all of us safe and healthy. As 2020 comes to a close, we are energized for the fights and victories that 2021 has in store for us.
Please join us on Tuesday, December 15th at 6PM CST/7PM EST [[link removed]] to learn more about our latest policy updates, advocacy campaigns and organizing efforts to help end gun violence.
You will hear updates from Quaniqua Carthan-Love of Cities United, David Muhammad of the National Institute for Criminal Justice Reform, Courtney Crowder of APCO Worldwide, and more.
Please RSVP here [[link removed]] , and share this invite across your networks!
In solidarity,
Greg Jackson Jr.
Advocacy Director, Community Justice Action Fund
