Next Tuesday the DC Council will take its final vote on the Displaced Workers Right to Reinstatement and Retention Amendment Act. If we win this fight and pass a strong bill many District workers in hard-hit industries would have the chance to return to their jobs as businesses reopen. This would be a major win for working people in the District and that is why we are asking you to join us in calling on the council to pass a strong right to return to work bill!

We know that business lobbyists groups are opposed to this bill and are pushing the Council to carve out large numbers of workers. This is unacceptable. Hotels, restaurants, and entertainment venues recently got $100 million from the DC government, now it’s time for DC to act to protect workers.

We need you to help us send 750 emails to the council to show them that our communities are united in demanding this crucial worker protection. We’re more than half-way there, please take a moment to ask the Council to stand up for workers. If you have already sent an email to the Council please circulate this email in your network.
