Hi John,

I’m supposed to keep this email to you purely about fundraising, but there’s something else on my mind right now.

A recent report in Bloomberg this week highlighted the growing threat of junk insurance plans to the health care marketplace and how they’re leaving vulnerable families high and dry with skyrocketing health care bills.

It’s something I can’t shake from my mind.

Health insurance is supposed to give you re-assurance, John. When you or a loved one have an emergency -- knowing that you’re covered by insurance is supposed to give you some peace of mind in a difficult situation. It’s not supposed to turn your world upside down with surprise medical bills.

But this is the reality for so many families, John. As the Trump administration continues to sabotage the ACA and create loopholes for bad actors -- families are suffering.

I ran for Congress last year with the goal to close these loopholes and strengthen health care access and affordability.

If you’re on board with me and this work, I hope that you’ll chip in whatever you can to my re-election campaign.

Together, I know we can fix this,
Colin
