Dear John,
Far too many public officials buried their heads in the sand in 2020 and ignored the dire financial threat posed by our nation’s $27 trillion debt. Even worse, many in Washington continue to propose tens of trillions of dollars in new federal spending programs that would add to America’s mounting and unsustainable indebtedness.
We want to know who you think truly stood out as the worst custodian of your hard-earned tax dollars this year. It is time to cast your vote for CAGW’s 2020 Porker of the Year!
Chosen by CAGW staff from the 2020 Porkers of the Month, the nominees for the politician who showed the most blatant disregard for the interests of taxpayers are:
New York City Mayor Bill De Blasio (D), for politicizing and delaying the distribution of a new COVID-19 vaccine that will save lives.
New York Governor Andrew Cuomo (D), for demanding a $5 billion bailout from taxpayers while refusing to make any commonsense spending cuts.
House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-Md.), for attempting to force all American taxpayers to bailout fiscally irresponsible states.
California Governor Gavin Newsom (D), for attempting a state takeover of the pharmaceutical industry.
Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-Fla.), for wanting to exhume Congressional earmarking, a practice that has squandered $375.7 billion.
Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer (D), for abusing her power during the coronavirus crisis.
John, cast your vote by 11:59 p.m. EST on Friday, December 27, to help determine who receives the “dishonor” of being named CAGW’s 2020 Porker of the Year!
We will announce the winner of our online poll on January 7, 2021.
Sincerely,
Paul Sullivan
