It’s nearly Christmas...

So here goes. For Positive Money to have more impact in 2021, we need more people to donate. Right now just 2% of our supporters chip in a few pounds each month - but regular donations are what make Positive Money strong and resilient, and mean we can make the most impact.

That’s why every year at about this time, we get in touch to ask if you’ll set up a regular monthly donation. 

We know we’re blowing our own trumpet here, but Positive Money is pretty unique. We combine groundbreaking research and innovative policy ideas with a people-powered movement - and that makes our campaigns stand out from the crowd. But to keep this (pretty smooth) engine running and accelerating, we need more people to donate.  

2021 is going to bring huge opportunities to push for a fairer, greener economy - from how we recover from Covid to Brexit to a huge climate summit being hosted in the UK. To make sure our voices cut through, we need more funding to boost our reach.

Here’s just a few things we could do together, if more supporters like you set up a regular donation this December:

• Hire a new member of staff focused on educating more people, politicians and journalists about the truth about money and banking. Our recent video targeting the BBC reached nearly 1 million people!
• Commision more polling to grab the media spotlight. Our poll this summer - proving 8/10 people want health and wellbeing to have priority over economic growth - got coverage in The Guardian and caught climate activist George Monbiot’s eye. Imagine if we could do this on a regular basis, instead of just once a year.
• Make a splash at the COP26 climate conference in Glasgow next autumn. With the eyes of the world fixed on the UK, this is a huge opportunity to push our government to lead the way in shifting to a wellbeing economy that cares for people and planet.
• Push the government to design a fair recovery from the Covid crisis. This year our director, Fran, gave evidence to a parliamentary committee on how we can build back better. We need to make sure our work shaping our recovery gets even more traction in Westminster in 2021.
