While most of us were profoundly experiencing the restrictions of 2020, an industry was thriving—the dark and destructive commercialized sex market. The advance of such opportunists is disconcerting, yet we remain in the fight and we remember that God has equipped us for this battle. Sometimes these challenges can feel overwhelming, but it is in these moments that we remember that we are not alone in this battle, many are fighting with us.  

When faced with having to alter the way that we might “normally” advocate for justice, we can never forget the pure power of God’s word and the strength of prayer; in fact, scripture reminds us that prayer is one of His greatest gifts and tools (James 5:13-16). And we have seen firsthand that your prayers have the power to heal and restore!

As part of our Faith in Action initiative in 2021, Shared Hope is mobilizing our faith networks and faith communities to fight sex trafficking and protect children. The 30 Days of Prayer takes place in January to coincide with Human Trafficking Awareness month. We hope you will join us in 30 Days of Prayer beginning January 1, 2021 to culminate with a National Day of Prayer Virtual Gathering on January 31st at 1 pm west coast and 4 pm east coast. 

When you sign up to participate, you will receive a daily email with a focused prayer, scripture, and action item taken directly from Shared Hope’s 30 Day Prayer Guide. As a body of believers, we want to draw on His word and direct our prayers to the broken world around us; to every child regardless of their circumstance; and to everyone who has suffered through sexual exploitation and slavery.

As the month unfolds, we will share more details for the virtual prayer gathering on Sunday, January 31st. We will culminate this month of prayer, not as a closing, but as an introduction to continued prayer for our fight against trafficking.
