John – I have to brag on my amazing students: many of them are participating in today’s climate strike, so I provided some class time yesterday for them to create signs for the demonstration!

I’m in the classroom teaching today, but I am looking forward to hearing about their experiences. More than anything, I’m so proud they care about this serious issue and that they’re participating in CHANGE.

Right now, our friends in the Houston area are suffering from historic flooding in what meteorologists are calling unprecedented and ‘not normal’. Several more storms are brewing in the Gulf of Mexico and the Pacific that threaten to wreak devastation.

As a nation, we MUST come together and face the climate emergency. That’s why I support the Green New Deal, and why I don’t take a dime of corporate PAC or fossil fuel lobby money, and I never will.

Even though I’m their teacher, I learn from these young leaders in my class every day. I am so proud to know that our youth aren’t sitting back and patiently waiting for change--they are fighting for it!

Change begins when our politicians are not in the pockets of corporate influence. Can you stand with me today and say no to unchecked corporate greed with a $25, $50, or even $100 contribution today?

John, I can’t thank you enough for standing with me and the people of this district to fight for a future that is brighter for the kids of Illinois’ Seventh District and the rest of the nation.

Together, we will WIN this.
