John,
BREAKING: The Senate just voted to appoint Trump’s FCC nominee who is even worse than Ajit Pai.
Simington is unqualified, anti-net neutrality, pro-censorship, and backed by Big Telecom.1 And now we’ve got to ramp up our work to stop him from using his post to continue attacks on Internet access and Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act until the Senate can confirm a new FCC Chair.2
Make an urgent donation to fuel our work to take on the FCC and restore net neutrality.

This isn’t good. And it’s really frustrating. The party line vote by Senate Republicans for Simington is a deeply cynical move that will prevent the FCC from functioning, and ultimately just hurts our kids, small businesses, and our communities—especially rural and Black and brown communities.
But the truth is the majority of people overwhelmingly oppose the direction the FCC has gone over the past four years, don’t want to see the Commission become the online free speech police, and want to reinstate net neutrality.3
And we know that we can channel the will of the people to demand the Senate confirm a Chair to the FCC who will break the deadlock and will reinstate net neutrality, and that we can pass legislation that will ensure everyone has access to an open Internet.
Simington’s appointment will make it harder. But we can still win.
But we need your support to unite Internet users from across the political spectrum to fight Simington and FCC attacks on the Internet. Can you chip in now?

No matter who’s on the FCC we know we’ll always have the fight to defend everyone’s right to connect online. Simington’s confirmation is a step backwards, but we’ll never give up.
