Hey John - we have big news!
Governor Holcomb and the Indiana Department of Transportation just awarded $101 million in Community Crossings grants to Indiana communities!
The Community Crossings Matching Grant Program assists local communities in the repair, ongoing maintenance, and improvement of their roads and bridges – making sure Hoosiers’ first and last miles of their days are durable and safe.
Indiana is called the Crossroads of America for a reason, and we’re dedicated to making sure Hoosiers are safe when we drive to work, pick up our kids from school, and travel to see family. “As we navigate through the challenges created by the COVID-19 pandemic, we’re as committed as ever to improving and building out our state’s infrastructure. I’m incredibly pleased that we’re able to fund all of the high-priority local road projects submitted in this call for projects. Taking care of our local roads is essential to making sure our communities remain attractive places to grow businesses and create careers” - Governor Eric Holcomb The Community Crossings Initiative has provided funding totaling more than $738 million in state matching funds for construction projects since the beginning of the program. It’s just one of the ways we’re working to build One Indiana for All, and deliver results for Hoosiers across our state. “This is a tremendous win for our local partners. Our continued partnership with Hoosier communities will deliver more high priority local road projects in the coming year, many of which have been in planning for months or even years and wouldn’t be able to move forward now without the state’s funding commitment.” - Indiana Department of Transportation Commissioner Joe McGuinness.
