The question is whether and when we’ll take the bold steps needed to make climate and clean energy action a national priority. The incoming Biden-Harris administration is opening a window of opportunity. To seize on this moment, we must mobilize massive grassroots support.
That’s why we’ve just launched our Power Up, America! People’s Climate Petition — and we need your signature on it today!
We’ve set an audacious goal of gathering 100,000 signatures by Inauguration Day so we can deliver them on Day One to the new administration and Congress. That’s just six weeks away.
That means we need 16,667 signatures per week to meet our goal.

We know powerful special interests are aligning against us. And climate deniers are still prevalent in Congress. So we must be focused and strategic in our efforts.
As the first major step, we’re calling on the incoming Biden-Harris administration and Congress to rebuild our economy and create healthier communities by cleaning up our transportation and electric power sectors.
Transportation and energy are the two largest sources of climate pollution in the U.S. They also represent the biggest opportunities for economic growth and for creating a modern, efficient and resilient infrastructure for the 21st century.
To slash pollution and unleash the full potential for innovation and job growth, we’re calling on the administration and Congress to set three ambitious national goals:
- 100% clean electric power by 2035
- All new cars are zero polluting by 2035
- All new trucks and buses are zero polluting by 2040
After four years of reckless policies under the Trump administration, these goals will put the U.S. back on track to do our part to prevent climate catastrophe. It will also help us compete against China, Germany and other major global economic powers that are surging their commitment to clean energy.
