The Washington Post: "Five days after President Trump pardoned his former national security adviser Michael Flynn, Fox News host and Trump ally Sean Hannity offered a suggestion... about whom the president should pardon next: himself and his family.
"'The president out the door needs to pardon his whole family and himself,' Hannity said on his radio show... 'I assume that the power of the pardon is absolute, and that he should be able to pardon anybody that he wants to.'"
Trump has been the president of crime and corruption. Throughout his term, he's shielded himself with the Constitution, which he claims lets him do whatever he wants. Meanwhile, he's openly used federal funds to support his re-election, enacted tax policies that directly benefited his own businesses, and used the justice department to protect him against sexual assault allegations -- all while his family shamelessly made millions for private companies.
Last year, one of Trump's lawyers brazenly argued that the sitting president could shoot a man in public and not be prosecuted. We don't think investigating Trump's multiple potential crimes has anything to do with harassment -- especially given that there is nothing that protects a former president from prosecution.
While no ex-president has ever been indicted before, the fact is that "no president has ever left office with so much potential criminal liability," as The New York Times reported. That's why today, we need to know where Democrats stand on prosecuting this failed one-term president. Should he be able to retire to the golf courses? Please, tell us now:
