We need a People’s Bailout now more than ever. According to the Census Bureau, one-third of adults expect to lose income in the next four weeks. One-third of adults are struggling to pay for usual household expenses. One-third of adults are living in homes where eviction or foreclosure is likely in the next two months.
Yet, it’s been months since the Senate has passed real relief with direct aid to everyday people. Mitch McConnell and the Senate Republicans refuse to support a real relief package, demanding instead that the government protect companies who force people to work in unsafe conditions during the pandemic. That’s unacceptable, and we need the Senate to act NOW.
Join us TONIGHT, Dec. 8, as we demand a People’s Bailout. We’ll be joined by Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer, Senator Bernie Sanders and Rep. Nydia Velázquez, along with leaders from People’s Action, Care in Action, Center for Popular Democracy, Indivisible, It Takes Roots, the Movement for Black Lives, the Sierra Club, and the Working Families Party. Tonight’s event will be emceed by Kiah Morris, Movement Politics Director of Rights and Democracy VT.
