It’s been just over a month since the election, and we’re finally starting to get a clear picture of the results for our six red-to-blue US House candidates.
First, the bad news… while some races were close, none were able to flip their seats. This was part of a national trend that saw Democrats lose seats in the House while winning the White House.
In the coming months, we will break down the data learn where we could improve in ‘22. For now, we will take a moment to congratulate all six candidates on races well run.

Let’s be clear -- winning as a Democrat in rural America has never been more difficult.
When I founded The Six PAC, it was with the clear mission that progressives need to start running effective and better funded races in places the Democratic Party has largely written off. A key part of our mission is “Power Building” in these regions--running a race as a proud progressive Democrat has positive benefits for a Rural District, win OR lose.
From the perspective of power building, our six endorsed candidates (seven, including Jessica Cisneros, who lost narrowly in a primary) were truly amazing.
In each of these districts, new voters were registered and engaged, volunteers were trained and energized, staff were developed and seasoned, future candidates were identified, and the PEOPLE of those districts were given an up close look at our progressive values and policies like The Green New Deal and Medicare for All. If Democrats are to take back rural red America, it has to start with well run and well funded progressive candidacies.
In just one year of this election cycle, we received over 7,000 individual contributions, and raised over $45,000 for our endorsed candidates. This was done without a single corporate or PAC contribution--we did this together!
Looking forward, The Six PAC will begin this election cycle with policy advocacy work at the federal level. Before long, we will begin looking at new candidates to support with the goal of providing good candidates the funding they need to run strong in the primaries. We will also be looking for seats to defend in what promises to be a tough 2022 election.

We will focus on candidates who need early money, who face tough primaries against establishment candidates, and who are committed to building power for their community.
