"Left-wing activists are already showing their anti-market tendencies, piling pressure on President-elect Joe Biden to use obscure agencies to impose strident regulations"--Chris Tomlinson, Houston Chronicle, 12/4/20

Friend

The Houston Chronicle published a whole column attacking Evergreen Action.

Why? For urging the Treasury Department to address climate risk in the financial system and curb the gross influence of fossil fuel corporations. Yes, really.

We're making the case for bold climate action -- and that means breaking the grip Big Polluters have on too much of our government. The pushback we're seeing now is a sign that we're winning.

Will you contribute today to keep us strong? Polluters (and those using their talking points) are going to use every tool at their disposal to try to set us back, and every dollar helps us make the case for why and how we need to take on the biggest challenge of our time.

The timing of the Chronicle's column is telling: It came out just a day after we launched our Five to Mobilize campaign, which lays out five steps the Treasury Department and 20 other federal agencies can take to address climate change.

The actions we're fighting for are not strident; they're stringent, and they're necessary for meeting the challenge of climate change at the scale and speed that science demands.

Climate is not one issue -- it's every issue. And every federal agency must be a part of the response. We have a plan to make that happen -- and now, those who want to preserve the status quo are getting nervous.

Contribute to Evergreen today to help us keep up the momentum -- and fend off the attacks that are sure to come -- as we make bold climate action a top priority for the Biden administration.
