Raphael Warnock issued a bold defense of Georgia's electoral system: "It is beyond time for Kelly Loeffler to put an end to the dangerous attacks she and President Trump are making on our elections ... I again ask Senator Loeffler to join me in standing up for Georgia voters, our elections and to stop putting her own political interests ahead of Georgia."

We agree. But GOP Senator Kelly Loeffler, who's locked in a runoff race with Warnock, has made it clear she "won't apologize" for backing Trump's dangerous -- and unfounded -- election fraud claims.

Loeffler is the richest member of the Senate, and she grew her wealth even further this year after committing insider trading after getting privileged information on the coronavirus. She wasn't elected to her office, but instead appointed by Georgia's Republican governor, Brian Kemp.

We can't give yet another corrupt and self-interested Republican six years in power -- especially not when it also means the GOP can keep its control of the Senate. Despite Loeffler's incessant attempts to undermine voter trust in the elections, Warnock is working hard to make blue inroads in Georgia -- and we have a chance to help him win his race and give Democrats control of the legislature.

But The New York Times has reported that the race will be "one of the hardest-fought and most expensive contests in the state's history," probably because "it could determine which party controls the Senate just two weeks before Inauguration Day."

There are millions of Democrats out there who think all the voting is over. But the fate of Congress rests on this final contest -- and right now, no one is giving -- because hardly anyone knows about the stakes.
