Trump is planning to veto a bipartisan defense bill that would rename military bases honoring Confederate military leaders.
The lame duck seems intent upon securing his legacy as a president who fostered racism and white supremacy throughout the nation.
As MSNBC writer Hayes Brown aptly puts in a recent op-ed, “[Trump] has skillfully stoked the racism inherent in his base. He has consistently helped translate this into official actions since his first days in office, starting with the so-called Muslim ban, in a trend that continues to place white people’s grievances over national security.”
It’s clear that Trump is going to milk every last moment of his presidency to wreak as much havoc upon our nation as he possibly can.
