John,
Our teams are extremely concerned by these startling new findings: Parts of Yemen are experiencing famine-like conditions — with over 47,000 people projected to fall into this category in the next six months.
John: The window to prevent a famine in war-torn Yemen is narrowing.
Food insecurity and hunger have increased by 60% since April — and in October, child malnutrition was recorded as the highest it has ever been in some areas of the country.
"The clock is ticking; every day more Yemenis are pushed into famine."
— Tamuna Sabadze, IRC Yemen Country Director
The IRC is providing immediate aid — to children like Rahaf, the 13-month-old girl pictured above, receiving treatment at our mobile clinic just a few weeks ago — but we need your help.
Your gift can help us provide more emergency food to vulnerable children and their families in Yemen and other crisis zones. For example, just $68 can provide food to 50 malnourished children.
And today, an anonymous donor will match your donation.
Imagine the impact you can make, with your matched gift today, John: [link removed]
It is difficult to convey the devastation that conflict, COVID-19, and now famine-like conditions are having on children and their families in Yemen.
"What we are seeing in Yemen is unlike any tragedy witnessed before," says Tamuna Sabadze.
Yemen has also seen a spike in airstrikes over the last few days with almost 50 airstrikes — since Friday alone. Since the start of the conflict, airstrikes have killed over 18,500 civilians.
,br> Is there any way you can chip in today — and have your donation matched — to help us reach people with health care, medicine, emergency food and other critical aid in Yemen and other crisis areas around the world?
Our work with refugees and displaced people around the world is possible because of people like you donating what they can. Thank you.
With gratitude,
Andrea Kost
