{SALUTATION~DEAR FIRSTNAME}
Christmas should be a time of peace and goodwill to all – including animals.
Every year, millions of turkeys are slaughtered for Christmas dinners in the UK.
The majority of these animals would have spent their short lives on factory
farms, before being transported to a slaughterhouse and facing a brutal and
terrifying death.
Animal Aid has previously exposed turkey farming through our undercover
investigations.
One such investigation took place at a Bernard Matthews farm in Norfolk,
apparently rearing free-range and RSPCA-assured turkeys.
We found bloodied and infected wounds, probably caused from fighting due to the
stressful conditions.
These conditions are typical, and any turkey purchased to eat will have suffered
similar, if not worse treatment during his or her short life.
