Let me start by thanking you, from the bottom of my heart, for powering our campaign. It was an enormous privilege to speak with Americans about their hopes and their fears, to lift up their voices and fight for their families.

Our campaign was a fearless declaration that women’s rights are human rights, and they’re nonnegotiable. And with countless attacks on women’s rights across our country, I believe that now more than ever.

That’s why I’m relaunching my Off The Sidelines PAC with a pledge to raise $1 million to elect women this cycle.

I founded Off The Sidelines eight years ago because I believed that if more women had a seat at the decision-making table, the outcomes for all Americans would be better. That if women made up 50% of Congress, we wouldn’t still be debating a woman’s right to reproductive health care, paid family leave, or affordable child care.

The historic number of women who ran for office and won in 2018 is proof-positive that change is possible—but we have so much work left to do. We have a president who demeans women, punches down, and trades on hate, xenophobia, and fear. Women still make up less than a quarter of Congress, women of color even a smaller share.

Some of my most inspiring moments over the past year were the times I met and spoke with young girls on the campaign trail.

They were so excited to see not just one, but SIX women running for president. Watching us showed them there’s truly no limit to what they can do if they put their minds to it—and if we show them we’ve got their backs.

Setting that example is a responsibility I take seriously, so while my presidential campaign may have ended, I’ve never felt more clarity of purpose.

We have just over 400 days to make sure Donald Trump is a one-term president, take back the Senate, and hold onto our majority in the House.
