This Wednesday, December 9, Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service will host Beyond Borders and Barriers: Creating an Equitable World for Migrant Women and Girls at 4 p.m. EST.

This webinar will convene experts and advocates to discuss the unique challenges that migrant women and girls face internationally and in the United States. The panel will focus on solutions, exploring the ways in which we can further foster a safe and equitable world for women and girls.

We hope this panel will educate, motivate, and mobilize our audience to take action on the global stage and in their own communities. Join us!

Megan Bracy is the Director for Refugee and Migrant Services at
Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service.

Leah Chavla is a senior policy advisor in the Migrant Rights and Justice program at the
Women’s Refugee Commission.


** Christina Fialho

Christina Fialho serves as co-executive director of
Freedom for Immigrants, formerly Community Initiatives for Visiting Immigrants in Confinement (CIVIC), which she co-founded in 2012 to abolish immigration detention.


** Susan Martin

Susan Martin held the Donald G. Herzberg Chair in International Migration and founded and led the
Institute for the Study of International Migration in the School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University.


** Aimee Zangandou

Aimee Zangandou is the Director of Refugee and Immigrant Services at
Inspiritus. She came to the United States through the Refugee Resettlement Program in 1997.

Krish O’Mara Vignarajah is the President and CEO of
Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service. A former refugee, Krish served in the Obama White House as Policy Director to Former First Lady Michelle Obama, and at the State Department as Senior Advisor under Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Secretary of State John Kerry.
