Last year, we accompanied police on an operation to help find and rescue a 13-year-old girl named Shanti* and three other young girls from sex trafficking.

But as soon as the operation began, it was clear that something was wrong. Shanti’s trafficker moved her and three other young girls to a different location before we arrived.

The rescue operation failed.
