Last week CODEPINK organized a letter to Joe Biden that was signed by over 80 organizations, representing millions of people across the United States. We want to believe that Biden, on his own, will keep his campaign trail promise to end US involvement in the Yemen war, but given how urgent the situation is in Yemen, we aren’t taking any chances. We are holding him to it!

Our coalition letter is bigger than just Yemen. In the letter, we call on Joe Biden to “Heed the bipartisan votes of Congress indicating that the Executive Branch does not have authorization -- as required by our Constitution and the War Powers Act of 1973 -- to participate in the Saudi war in Yemen, and commit to signing a new Yemen War Powers Resolution”. This would mean that not only do we stop US involvement in Yemen, we also stop giving the executive branch the authority to make war on its own. Sign your name to the letter here.
