COVID-19 cases are at an all-time high, and immigrant detention centers continue to be hit especially hard by the virus -- up to 13 times higher than in the general population.

Jason has been a constant advocate for humane treatment and increased transparency for those in detention facilities. And when COVID-19 hit, he sent a letter to the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to urge them to establish safety standards inside their facilities and refrain from transferring immigrants from facility to facility.

To take further action, Jason just introduced the End Transfer of Detained Immigrants Act, a bill that would halt the transfer of detainees between facilities and establish social distancing protocols within facilities themselves.

The alarm has been sounded -- by Jason and by many others -- about how dangerous COVID-19 is, especially within tight, often unsanitary quarters. ICE continues to operate detention facilities without taking the safety of detainees or the health care workers who treat them into consideration.

It is months past when ICE, at the directive of the Trump administration, should have established a COVID-19 strategy. Jason isn't going to stop holding ICE and the Trump administration accountable or defending the human rights of immigrants, and he needs to know that you're with him.
