Friend,
We have a chance to win back control of the U.S. Senate—and with it, the ability to make the urgent changes our communities need. But first, we need to win two Senate runoff races coming up in Georgia.
We know that the best way to reach underrepresented communities is having authentic, face-to-face conversations. And our allies on the ground in Georgia have a goal of door knocking every Latinx household in the state.
The race is tight, but we know we can flip the two remaining seats in the Senate if we can reach the 283,000 Latinx households in Georgia.
Donate today to Mijente PAC and our campaign, as we work with the Georgia Latino Alliance For Human Rights (GLAHR) Action Network to reach every Latinx voter between now and Election Day on January 5th.
If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your secure donation will go through immediately, split evenly between Mijente PAC and Rashida:
Latinx participation in the 2020 election in Georgia more than doubled from 2016, which, along with Black organizing and turnout, helped the state flip blue for the first time in decades.
And that’s largely thanks to the partnership between Mijente PAC and GLAHR Action Network, in the last two election cycles.
Together, Mijente PAC and GLAHR Action Network ran the first political campaign focused on reaching out to Latinx residents of Georgia, in support of Stacey Abrams for Governor in 2018. They had conversations with almost half of the Latinx community in the state (92,000 people)!
Since then, they continue to build political power, including in coalition with Black-led groups in Georgia.
Ahead of the 2020 presidential election, they reached 370,000 voters through door knocking and remote efforts. They focused on two counties in Georgia, but now, for the Senate runoff race, they are contacting ALL Latinx voters throughout the state, including expanding to rural areas in Southern Georgia.
And every single vote will count: Joe Biden and Kamala Harris won in Georgia by just over 12,000 votes!
Split a contribution today between Mijente PAC and our campaign to power efforts on the ground in Georgia to win two critical Senate runoff elections and flip the U.S. Senate blue.
It’s important to meet people where they’re at and build direct connections so everyone can engage in and have access to the political process.
Many people in marginalized communities have been left behind and failed by our government. So we’ve got to build relationships and trust for the long-term in order to create the robust, accessible democracy we need in this country, where our communities’ voices are heard.
We’re building that democracy today and every day, together.
Thanks for all you do,
Rashida
