Drilling in the Artic Refuge would tear apart land the Gwich'in people have stewarded, protected, and relied on for millennia. Furthermore, the Arctic Refuge is a pristine and thriving ecosystem of plants and wildlife. Drilling in the Refuge would devastate this untouched national treasure and jeopardize the survival of countless wildlife. Even the administration's own Environmental Impact Statement admits that drilling "may result in extinction" for nearly six dozen species of birds.

Our public lands teams are working in solidarity with the Gwich'in people to stop this unprecedented polluter giveaway. We've already helped win a vote in the House to restore protections for the Arctic Refuge from exactly this kind of exploitation.
