Hi there,
"If President Trump comes out and says: 'Guys, I have irrefutable proof of fraud, the courts won't listen, and I'm now calling on Americans to take up arms,' we would go."
That's a powerful, shocking, and disturbing quote from a Trump supporter recently published by Reuters. And it's a sentiment that looks to be incredibly common -- according to Reuters/Ipsos, only 29% of Republicans believe Joe Biden won the election.
We cannot maintain our democracy if both sides aren't willing to accept the basic reality of the outcome of an election. And there's a significant chunk of Republicans who don't trust the election results and now expect them to be overturned. We can't have half the population throwing a temper tantrum to get what they want -- especially if what they want is four more years of Trump.
We need to defend our democracy and defend the outcome of the election. We need to show that there are more Americans who trust the electoral process than those who distrust it -- and we need to show it now. Will you help us? Tell us your view:
Do you think the election was free and fair?
