You are probably familiar with many of these bedrock environmental laws – Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, Endangered Species Act and more. Other policies may have flown under your radar. Did you know that Trump even tried to evade crucial energy efficiency standards for common light bulbs? Yeah, we sued over that too.
I’m hopeful that with a new administration that’s putting the environment front and center, we will finally be able to reverse many of Trump’s harmful policies once and for all. But that’s not enough. We need to move forward with the level of urgency that this crisis demands. COVID-19 has underscored exactly why this is so essential – our failure on the environment has had widespread negative health impacts, particularly for communities of color.
