John -- Leave it to entrenched centrist Senator Joe Manchin to diminish any effort of real and effective change for regular-working people. 

In recent days, Manchin took it upon himself to tweet more condescending and insulting attacks to Congresswoman Alexandria-Ocasio Cortez. In response to AOC’s policy initiatives for COVID-19 relief, he stated, “I don’t know the young lady — I really don’t. I never met her. I’m understanding she’s not that active with her bills or in committee. She’s more active on Twitter than anything else.”

Manchin and other centrists are trying to undermine the progressive movement, suggesting that the new breed of fierce young leaders doesn’t know what they are doing. While Joe Manchin isn’t on the ballot next election, we will still work hard to make sure he has progressive colleagues in the Senate to answer to.
