Longtime political searchlight The Hill is calling it now: Democrats will need "record turnout" in order to win in Georgia.

As The Hill reports, "The race is taking place in an off-election year amid a pandemic. On top of that, Republicans historically have a stronger track record of turning out in runoffs in the state."

That doesn't mean Democrats are down and out yet. And that's mostly thanks to the all-star players on our team -- as The Hill reports, "Former Georgia gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams is credited with energizing Democratic-leaning voters in the state, particularly Black voters. Roughly 800,000 new voters have been registered in the state since Abrams established the Fair Fight Action group in 2018 to combat voter suppression."

We couldn't be more thankful for the position we're in. But at the same time, it's GEORGIA -- that position is extremely fragile. As former GOP chairman Chuck Clay put it: "The assumption that every 17- and 18-year-old is a Democrat is specious. A lot of young people like Trump even if they didn't vote [in November]."

And now that Trump's leaving office, those young Republicans who like the GOP but who can't quite wrap their heads around a reality TV show president may turn out for the Republican senatorial candidates.

If that happens, all is lost. President-elect Biden won't be able to do anything with his first 100 days or even his first term. Republicans will control the news cycle, the courts, what bills pass, what happens to us, and what happens to our friends and family members. Again.

That can't happen. Every year they manage to stall progress presents new chances for hardworking Americans to fall through the cracks. Just look at the disastrous year that has been 2020 -- and imagine if Democrats had been able to pass progressive, people-focused COVID relief instead of the GOP's bailout of trillion-dollar companies. That's why we're doing everything we can to throw our weight behind the progressives working to make this country a better place. But not all the races are run yet -- or won yet. Not enough people even know about these special elections in Georgia. That's why we need you.

Please, if you want to be part of the RECORD TURNOUT required to defeat the GOP in Georgia -- and make for a blue Senate under President Biden -- pitch in what you can now. Defeat the GOP strategists and the unactivated voters they're bragging about having waiting in the wings.
