A quick reminder of why we are fighting so hard in Georgia (short answer: it’s to protect our elections against voter fraud).
Flashback: H.R. 1 - Pelosi Tried to Legalize Election Fraud
When Democrats took over the House in 2019, Speaker Nancy Pelosi tried to enshrine into law a federal election system to support and enable voter fraud.

Pelosi’s election bill, H.R. 1, would have:



- Given the federal government control over state elections
- Erased state voter ID laws
- Required same-day voter registration
- Allowed voters to vote outside their precinct (so it’s even harder to check voter rolls)
- Handed control over the FEC to just one party



Heritage Action vigorously fought this bill (see our activist toolkit <[link removed]> for more info). And we key voted against H.R. 1 <[link removed]> on our scorecard.

Despite conservatives' best efforts, the House passed H.R. 1 by a vote of 234 to 193. Not a single Democrat voted against it.

In 2021, Pelosi will get another chance to rig our election laws. The only question is, “What will the Senate do?” Conservatives were saved by the Senate once before.

Election fraud does happen <[link removed]>, and our elected officials must do everything in their power to stop it. But the problems you see today will be 10x worse if Pelosi is able to pass her election fraud bill into law in 2021.

If we want the Senate to defend our election laws in 2021, we need conservatives in Georgia to show up and vote in full force!
Exposing Raphael Warnock’s Hateful Speech
This past week, we launched a new digital ad campaign <[link removed]> highlighting Georgia Democrat Senate Candidate Raphael Warnock’s controversial past comments on Evangelical Christians and his ties to socialists and extreme groups.

Warnock said "America needs to REPENT for its worship of whiteness" and attacked "evangelical preachers" as "mealy-mouthed." Warnock also preached at an NYC church when it welcomed murderous communist dictator Fidel Castro to speak.


Jessica Anderson, Executive Director of Heritage Action, commented <[link removed]>:
"Georgians deserve to know the facts of Raphael Warnock’s extreme and divisive background… Warnock is not the moderate he portrays himself to be. He has ties to socialists and extreme groups, and has attacked American evangelicals from the pulpit. He is a divisive figure with far-Left policies, and all Americans should stand up against this hate."

The revealing ads have gained the attention of national media publications like POLITICO’s Playbook (a daily newsletter) and Axios and have shed further light on Heritage Action’s grassroots efforts in Georgia. The ads are part of a larger million-dollar campaign to reach over 1.5 million Georgian voters. <[link removed]>

To date, Heritage Action has made 129,401 phone calls, knocked on 45,900 doors, and sent 150,000 peer-to-peer GOTV text messages.

Happening on the Hill
Trillion-Dollar COVID-19 Bill

This past week, Congress released a “bi-partisan” COVID proposal that fails to effectively target funding or get Americans back to work. This bill is a non-starter for conservatives. There are three primary problems with the bill:


- The $160 billion in state and local bailouts. Taxpayers in well-managed states should not be forced to fund irresponsible governors and mayors who mismanaged their states’ finances.
- The $180 billion in funding for a harmful $300 weekly supplemental unemployment insurance benefits. A better policy would be to allow businesses to reopen and individuals to return to work.
- The bill contains numerous irrelevant policies including funding for the postal service and other extraneous programs.



Garrett Bess, Heritage Action Vice President of Government Relations and Communications, says that:
“Instead of spending nearly a trillion dollars of taxpayer money on costly and ineffective measures, Congress should focus on the specific health impacts of COVID-19, small business relief, and getting the nation back to work.”

Police Pledge Signers Win Congressional Races

Two more Congressional candidates who signed Heritage Action’s Police Pledge <[link removed]> have won their bids for public office this past week: Congressman-elect Burgess Owens <[link removed]> (Utah-4) and Congresswoman-elect Mariannette Miller-Meeks <[link removed]> (Iowa-2). These results come after recounts in their races and the final results were just recently certified.

Heritage Action applauds these individuals for committing to stand with police and opposing any bill, resolution, or movement that calls to “defund the police.”
