Hello, Friends —

I hope you and your loved ones had a safe and happy Thanksgiving!

This week, the House was back in session. On Friday, the House passed the MORE Act, a far-reaching cannabis reform bill. Despite its flaws, I voted in favor of this bill.

I was also proud this week to introduce the Protecting Political Expression Act of 2020 with my colleague and friend, Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-HI). This bill would extend federal protections for a person’s political views. Nobody in this great country should face discrimination for their political beliefs, but this foundational principle has been under siege lately.

December 6, 2019 is a date which will be forever etched in the hearts of Northwest Florida. On that date, a terrorist opened fire at NAS Pensacola, killing three and wounding eight.

On Friday, December 4, the U.S. Navy presented three posthumous Purple Heart Medals to the families of the three servicemen who were killed: Ensign Joshua Watson, Naval Air Crewman 3rd Class Mohammed Haitham, and Naval Air Crewman 3rd Class Cameron Walters.

They will never be forgotten.

Gabbard Calls on Trump to Pardon Snowden, Assange

“Gabbard and Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) introduced a resolution earlier this year calling on the federal government to drop all charges against Snowden, who leaked files to journalists and was forced to flee to Russia to avoid prosecution. ‘All charges against Edward Snowden should be dropped. We need to protect whistleblowers, not the powerful elite,’ Gabbard said at the time. Gaetz alleged Snowden ‘has been unfairly villainized and persecuted for disclosing the true scope of illegal government surveillance.’”

How Trump’s Hill allies could take one last shot to overturn the election

“‘Nothing is off the table,’ said Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL).
