The need for women’s patient aid is greater than ever.

Dear Friends,

My name is Scott and Hazelden Betty Ford saved my life.

My recovery journey began on January 16th—the day I entered Hazelden Betty Ford in Naples, Florida. That first night at Naples was the best night's sleep I experienced in the preceding decade. I finally felt safe and at ease. Not only because I was in a trusting environment, but also because I could finally let my guard down and start working on bettering myself.

Now, I have a joy-filed life and I am active in recovery. For example, I never miss the Naples group alumni meeting Monday nights. Unfortunately, not everyone in my family has been so lucky—including my older sister, Jennifer. After suffering from addiction and domestic violence, my sister passed away at 21 years old.

That’s why this holiday season, I am inspired to make a difference and help other women find the same healing, hope and promise of recovery I now experience every waking moment. And so, for that reason, I’ve donated $250,000 to create:
The Women’s Patient Aid Matching Gift Challenge

Sadly, right now the COVID-19 pandemic is having a negative impact on women of all ages. While alcohol use is up 14% among the general population, heavy drinking among women has increased by 41%.

Hazelden Betty Ford researchers also state domestic violence increases with isolation. Meaning, as this pandemic continues and so many are cut off from each other, many more women will experience the same tremendous challenges my sister, Jennifer, faced.

All of the above—and more—is why I’m offering to double the amount of your gift—up to $250,000.

I know firsthand that Hazelden Betty Ford’s services change lives and save lives. To honor my sister Jennifer, I want to see women of all ages get the help they need this holiday season. Even in the face of COVID-19, we can continue to offer healing and hope to those who need us.

Because of people like you giving back today, Hazelden Betty Ford will not let COVID-19 impact our ability to always ensure help is on the way.

That must keep happening!

And so—I hope you will consider a gift of hope to support Women’s Patient Aid—right now before the holiday season comes to a close.

And if you will do that, I pledge to double your gift.
$500 will become $1,000
$400 will become $800
$200 will become $400
$100 will become $200

Whatever amount you contribute represents a powerful opportunity to provide much-needed support to women of all ages during this pandemic.
