2020 Vision – ending child poverty for good

When we look back on 2020, it will almost certainly be as the year of coronavirus. It was, of course, supposed to be a milestone year for more positive reasons: it was supposed to be the year we ended child poverty in the UK. But with rising child poverty even before the pandemic, we now find ourselves facing a child poverty crisis. And with rising unemployment and ongoing economic uncertainty, what next for the goal to end child poverty?

This year we’ve seen the nation come together around campaigning for free school meals, and increasing public support for our vital social security system – a system more and more families have come to rely on perhaps for the first time in 2020. How do we now build the future we want post-pandemic, where children are free from poverty and able to thrive?

Join us at an online event on Tuesday 15 December at 10.00 – 11.30am where you will hear from former prime minister the Rt Hon Gordon Brown, and several other expert speakers.
