John —

Thanksgiving may be over but we still have so much to be thankful for — and that’s because of your support. This community enables us to fight for the innocent and secure their freedom.

So we wanted to say, from the bottom of our hearts: Thank you.

Because of you, our recently freed clients like Robert DuBoise and Ron Jacobsen were able to spend Thanksgiving at home with their loved ones for the first time in decades.

Robert is a vegetarian, so he doesn’t get too excited about the food, but he was thrilled to be with family over the holiday. He said the best part of the day was seeing his mom and her sister spend Thanksgiving together for the first time since they were teenagers.

Ron had a quiet Thanksgiving at home with his sister Gladys — his first in more than 30 years. She made a turkey and he said it was his favorite part of the meal. Even though Ron is still fighting to be exonerated, he’s been enjoying smaller freedoms like getting to wake up when he wants and doing yard work for his sister.

It’s moments like this — seeing recently freed people being able to spend time with their loved ones — that remind us how life-changing this work is, and we wouldn’t be able to do it without your support.

So again, thank you for everything. This is all possible because of you.

With gratitude,

— The Innocence Project Team
