“Last week, the Trump administration announced that it would continue to carry out executions in the days and weeks leading up to the inauguration of President-elect Joe Biden, with the last one now scheduled just five days before Biden takes office on Jan. 20, 2021,” Slate reports.
In case the gravity of this brutal choice hasn’t hit you yet, Slate notes that “the Death Penalty Information Center reports that the last time an outgoing administration did anything remotely similar was more than a century ago, in 1889.”
Bill Barr and Donald Trump are on their way out of office, but they’re milking every last moment to cause as much destruction to human life as possible. Apparently, they weren’t satisfied watching 270,000 Americans needlessly die from a pandemic that could’ve been controlled. They need more state-sanctioned blood on their hands.
Trump’s legacy will be hard to scrub away -- his supporters are still passionate and staunch in their ideals. It’s going to take a long time to heal from the wounds he’s inflicted upon our country, but we at A Woman’s Place are in it for the long haul.
